The participation of private contractors is crucial to the success of President Bongbong Marcos‘ “Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Housing Program” (4PH), according to Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development (DHSUD) Undersecretary Wilfredo Mallari.”We need the support of private contractors for the government’s housing program,” Mallari earlier said.
To encourage private sector involvement, the DHSUD has been promoting joint venture agreements (JVA) and public-private partnerships (PPP) under the 4PH program. The department is actively creating more opportunities for collaboration with private contractors and developers.
DHSUD Secretary Jerry Acuzar has been meeting with various groups, including the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA), Organization of Socialized and Economic Housing Developers of the Philippines (OSHDP), National Real Estate Association Inc. (NREA), and the Chamber of Real Estate and Builders’ Association Inc. (CREBA).
One such partnership involves Fiesta Communities led by Atty. Wilfredo M. Tan, president and chairman of Hausland Group, which is developing housing projects in Central Luzon.
Tan recently signed a memorandum of agreement alongside Limay Mayor Nelson David, Bataan Vice Governor Cris Garcia, and DHSUD. The agreement covers the construction of a condo-style mass housing project in Limay, Bataan.
The project will be built on a 7,992-square-meter lot in Barangay San Francisco de Asis I and will feature 508 housing units, each ranging from 22 to 25 square meters.
It is a collaboration between DHSUD, Pag-IBIG Fund, and the Bataan provincial government.
